Pohang Techno Park (PTP) hosted the 2026 International Conference on the Green Bio Industry on September 2–3, bringing together experts and representatives from industry, academia, research institutions and government from Korea and overseas. Co-hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and Pohang City and organized by Pohang Techno Park , the two-day conference focused on strengthening international cooperation in the green bio industry, with particular emphasis on veterinary pharmaceuticals, animal healthcare and global market expansion .

The conference was designed not only to share the latest technologies and market trends, but also to create practical opportunities for Korean green bio companies to connect with international partners and advance into overseas markets.

A joint session involving POSTECH and Kyungpook National University’s College of Veterinary Medicine highlighted recent research and industry trends in plant-based platform technologies, veterinary pharmaceuticals, exosomes, regenerative medicine and companion-animal healthcare. Particular attention was given to expanding access to the European Union market . During the Korea–Lithuania cooperation session, representatives discussed strategies for entering the EU veterinary pharmaceutical market. Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Ratbio, Grassmedi and Pohang Techno Park signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation aimed at expanding into the European market.

Through the conference, PTP is positioning itself as a platform connecting local green bio companies with global partners , supporting the full process from technology development and commercialization to international market expansion. PTP is also developing a broader support ecosystem through the Green Bio Venture Campus, which is intended to foster promising green bio ventures and support their growth and global expansion.

The conference marks another step in Pohang’s efforts to establish itself as a global hub for green bio innovation , particularly in green vaccines, veterinary pharmaceuticals and animal healthcare, while creating tangible pathways for local companies to enter international markets.
