The 23rd ASPA Board of Directors Meeting was held in Jeju Island.

The 23rd ASPA Board of Directors Meeting was held at the Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel in Jeju Island on April 23, 2012 during the 7th ASPA LEADERS Meeting. The 9 ASPA board members attended the meeting among them Dr. Jong Hyun Lee, Chairperson of ASPA, Mr. Jong Seop Lee, President of Daegu Technopark, Mr. Randy T.M. Yen, Director-General of Hsinchu Science Park, Mr. Masao Hashinaga, Representative Executive of Kyoto Research Park, Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Vice Chairman of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Dr. Won Cheoul Jang, Chairperson of Korea Technopark Association, Mr. Won Kyun Boo, General Director of Jeju Free International City Development Center, Ms. Yi-Hsin Hsiao, Research Assistant of Central Taiwan Science Park, Mr. You Hyun Moon, President of Gyeonggi Technopark.

Especially, Jeju Free International City Development Center has become a new director of ASPA Board of Directors after hosting the 7th ASPA LEADERS Meeting.

At the 23rd ASPA Board Meeting, the ASPA board members discussed the activities and financial report for 2011, activities and budget for 2012, opening of ASPA regional office and selection of the host organization of the 8th ASPA LEADERS Meeting.

According to the result of the 23rd ASPA Board Meeting, the objective and host selection method for ASPA LEADERS Meeting have changed to differentiate ASPA LEADERS Meeting from ASPA Annual Conference. From this time, to share the experiences and successful know-how of the advanced Asian science and techno parks with new emerging science and techno parks in Asia, the host organization for ASPA LEADERS Meeting will be recommended by the ASPA Secretariat every year considering which ASPA member park needs our experiences and will be selected by a vote of the ASPA board members.

The 24th ASPA Board of Directors Meeting is going to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on October 24, 2012.
